Jerry Garcia

I miss Jerry!!!!

This Jerry art is the second painting I did for my “Art that Rocks”® music series.

This new art print of Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead is now available at 14” x 26”, an Artist Signed Limited Edition Reproduction – This is from a printing of 250 produced from my a one of a kind original oil painting. The original stretched canvas is 22” x 44”. The reproduction offered here has an image area of 14” x 26″, on 17.5” x 28” stock. Each print is numbered and hand signed.

Jerry Garcia, born August 1, 1942 was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist best known for his work with the band the Grateful Dead, which came to prominence during the counterculture era in the 1960s. Though he disavowed the role, Garcia was viewed by many as the leader or “spokesman” of the group. One of its founders, Garcia performed with the Grateful Dead for their entire thirty-year career (1965–1995). Garcia also founded and participated in a variety of side projects, including the Saunders–Garcia Band (with longtime friend Merl Saunders), the Jerry Garcia Band, Old and in the Way, the Garcia/Grisman acoustic duo, Legion of Mary, and the New Riders of the Purple Sage (which Garcia co-founded with John Dawson and David Nelson). He also released several solo albums, and contributed to a number of albums by other artists over the years as a session musician. He was well known for his distinctive guitar playing and was ranked 46th in Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” cover story. Later in life, Garcia was sometimes ill because of his diabetes, and in 1986 went into a diabetic coma that nearly cost him his life. Although his overall health improved somewhat after that, he also struggled with drug addictions, and was staying in a California drug rehabilitation facility when he died of a heart attack in August 1995.

Jerry was deeply missed in the Santa Clara & Chicago shows in 2015 on the ‘Fare thee Well’ tour.

Tom thanks for the response, our Ronnie painting has brought a lot of Joy in our home. I am
    Looking for something specific I’d
Like a Jerry picture of him in his younger
Days with his Gibson SG guitar

Let me just say this. If you’d like to see a grown man cry, I suggest you open this print upon arrival in front of a mirror. Absolutely stunning! Pictures on website, although very nice, DO NOT do the artwork any justice. Actual print 100 times better. I can’t wait for my next one
