Johnny Cash

‘Cash Connection’

Here is an art print of the original Johnny Cash oil painting, a great music art piece and a classic print for your home, bar or club.

I’ve been encouraged by more than a few fans to create a Johnny Cash painting, so it’s done!! The original oil painting was done at a great size, measuring 30” x 48”. (the print image is 16.25” x 26”) I considered a lot of different looks for Johnny, and decided this dark image felt right, with Johnny, having a knowing connection with the viewer.
I’ve listened to a lot of music in my day, and Cash is one of those highly respected artists that influenced many others. I had a lot of tunes playing while working on this painting that spanned many years and many genres. Johnny was one of the four Highwaymen with Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson, all of which I’ve now painted.

Johnny Cash (born J. R. Cash; February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) was a Grammy Award-winning American singer-songwriter and one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. Primarily a country music artist, his songs and sound spanned many other genres including rockabilly and rock and roll (especially early in his career), as well as blues, folk and gospel. Much of Cash’s music, especially that of his later career, echoed themes of sorrow, moral tribulation, and redemption. His signature songs include “I Walk the Line”, “Folsom Prison Blues”, “Ring of Fire”, “Get Rhythm”, “Hurt” and “Man in Black”.
