Angus Young

100 Percent Pure Angus

Anybody who has ever seen Angus Young in concert knows the energy and passion that is forever stamped into your brain. I’m not sure how you ever top that for a live performance. In his words… “I don’t like to play above or below people’s heads. Basically, I just like to get up in front of a crowd and rip it up.”

I had a lot of fun putting this portrait together. I think I nailed it.

The size of this print is 27” x 19” (68.6 cm x 48.3 cm). This is a high quality giclee art print created from my original oil painting portrait of Angus.

Angus Young, born in Glasgow Scotland, is an Australian guitarist best known as the co-founder, lead guitarist, and songwriter of the Australian hard rock band, AC/DC. He is known for his energetic performances, schoolboy-uniform stage outfits, and popularisation of Chuck Berry’s duckwalk. In 2003, he and the other members of AC/DC were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Rolling Stone magazine ranked Young as the 24th greatest guitarist of all time. Shown here, he’s playing his famed Gibson SG as he’s thrown himself to the stage, kicking, shaking, and spinning in circles, while wailing on the guitar. AC/DC have remained together since their formation in 1974 and have released 15 studio albums. The band’s shipped over 200 million albums worldwide, with 70 million certified units in the US. Their 1980 studio album, Back in Black, is accountable for 50 million of those worldwide sales and is the second all time highest-selling album worldwide.
