After planting the seed for this painting a few years back, David Harvey of the United Kingdom has now commissioned me to create this painting from a photo he took at the Hammersmith Odeon, a live entertainment performance venue located in Hammersmith, London in early March 1983.
The first picture is the small colored pencil sketch which I did for his approval, and which has driven the large 28" x 40" oil painting as this piece came together. I've posted photos of it's progression as it came together.
Robert William Gary Moore (4 April 1952 – 6 February 2011), better known simply as Gary Moore, was a Northern Irish musician from Belfast, best recognized as a blues rock guitarist and singer. Gary was known in the US mostly as the guitarist with the Irish bands Skid Row and Thin Lizzy. While less popular in the US, Moore’s work “brought substantial acclaim and commercial success in most other parts of the world – especially in Europe” .
Sadly, Gary died of a heart attack in Feb of 2011 while on holiday in Spain.
With a bit of discussion, it's been decided to share this with the world as a limited edition of 100 high quality prints.
This reproduction will have an image area of 27” x 19” ( 48.3 cm x 68.6 cm)
Limited Edition of 100 prints at $439.00
Prints are now available!!!!
