My current project was quite an epic undertaking with a large painting of Thin Lizzy on stage in London.
In March of 1983, Thin Lizzy played 4 nights at the Hammersmith Odeon for their last tour before they went their separate ways. My client in London who commissioned this painting, attended all four shows and thankfully documented them with the photos that I painted from.
At the final night’s show, They brought onto stage, most of the old guitarists that had played with Thin Lizzy in the past. They brought them on one at a time to play with the band, and then, they all played on stage at the same time for the encore...playing The Rocker!
The painting features 8 members: Gary Moore, John Sykes, Phil Lynott, Brian Downey, Scott Gorman, Brian Robertson, Darren Wharton, & Eric Bell.
This painting is appropriately titled...“Thin Lizzy - The Rocker”
As the painting came together, I posted the photos here of it's progression.
The oil painting is 40" x 28", and now that it's completed, I've created a limited edition of 100 high quality prints at the size of 27" x 19".
Prints can be ORDERED here... https://tomnoll.com/art-prints-store/ols/products/thin-lizzy---the-rocker
